Melissa Kantor

Assistant Head of School

BA Amherst College; MA New York University

2024-present

Melissa comes to Trinity from Saint Ann’s School, where she taught English and served as the dean of faculty for many years. A Bronx native, she lived on the Upper West Side as a child (she walks by her old apartment on her way from the subway to Trinity) before moving to the suburbs of Long Island, where she listened to a lot of Billy Joel. After attending Amherst College, where she majored in English and political science, Melissa lived in Israel and Zimbabwe. During her time abroad, she longed to return to New York, which she did, first to the Upper West Side and then to Brooklyn. She lives there still with her husband, their three children (two in high school, one in college), and two cats. Melissa, who received her MA in English from New York University, is “indoors-y” and in her spare time enjoys reading and writing books (her young adult novel Biology Lessons will be available in January). She is over the moon to be joining the Trinity community.
