Cristy joins Trinity after teaching for seven years at Avenues The World School. Prior to moving to New York, she taught grades kindergarten through three in the Greater Houston area. Cristy and her class are featured in The Reading Strategies Book and The Writing Strategies Book by literacy author Jennifer Serravallo. A native Venezuelan, Cristy holds a BA in early childhood education from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and an MA in educational psychology from the Universitat de Barcelona. Cristy truly believes reading is magic and loves spreading the joy of reading in the community. Since 2020, she has partnered with the Elliott-Chelsea Houses Tenants’ Association to organize free book fairs, where she has given away thousands of books to children of all ages. Outside of school, Cristy enjoys traveling with her friends and family, attending baseball games and Broadway shows, spending time with her puppy, Dunkin’, learning new fun facts about New York City, and finding cozy cafes. She is excited to join the Trinity community.
