Ruthie grew up in Massachusetts and moved to New York to attend Barnard College, where she majored in anthropology and minored in German. She then received an MA as a learning specialist from Teachers College, Columbia University. Ruthie has worked as a learning specialist for over twenty-five years at numerous independent schools in New York, including The Brearley School, Poughkeepsie Day School, and Friends Seminary. She loves sharing her students’ excitement when they first discover the joy of reading. In her spare time, Ruthie gardens at her house in Rhinebeck, swims, reads, and travels. She is happy to join the dynamic Trinity community.
